The Ibrox outfit will see the plan take place on April 7 but it will only be open to home supporters
Rangers have been given the go-ahead to sell alcohol in a marquee at Edmiston House on April’s Celtic derby day.
The Ibrox outfit were permitted by council chiefs to sell booze and food in the car park of the event area on April 7. As other outlets are reporting this evening, the marquee will be available only to home supporters albeit the ticket row rumbles on and Hoops fans are unlikely to be in attendance at all.
A total of 200 tickets will be available for supporters looking to head into Edmiston House with it being on a first come, first served basis. It was also confirmed that booze will not be sold during the game, with the facility only opening to sell from 2pm until 4.30pm.
The city council’s licensing board approved the plan today, with a police inspector recommending conditions such as limits on alcohol and stewarding. And those requirements were accepted by the Ibrox board.
