Celtics’ Jaylen Brown added to injury report for MLK Day matchup vs. Raptors
In a divisional matchup for the fourth time in the 2023–24 campaign, the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics square off. However, the C’s best player Jaylen Brown might not be available for this Monday night’s MLK Day game.
With just two games missed this season, the two-time All-Star is classified as questionable against the Raptors due to a right knee issue. Fortunately, this diagnosis is unlikely to be severe and is probably more related to rest.
Seven consecutive games have been won by the Celtics over the Raptors, with three of those victories occurring in the 2023–24 season. The C’s, without Kristaps Porzingis and Jayson Tatum, were led by Jaylen Brown, who scored 31 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 41 minutes during their previous matchup. Boston won 120–118, plus one.
The Raptors are still 15–24 and in the Eastern Conference basement despite the upheaval in Canada. They should be trading ahead of the deadline on February 8th, as they have lost three in a row.
With a 30-9 record, the Celtics are leading the Eastern Conference standings. Even though they have a perfect 19-0 record at home, Toronto will host this Atlantic Division matchup.
